Just days after individuals started applying for debt forgiveness hoping to erase debt from their student loans, a federal appeals court late Friday ordered an administrative stay temporarily halting President Joe Biden’s proposal to erase billions of dollars in federal student loans for students. This halts the program right where it is.
What is important though is Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary for the White House, urged borrowers to continue requesting the relief, stating that the court’s temporary decision did not bar requests or the examination of requests but only time will tell.
After many students loan pauses this forgiveness was the final helpful initiative for those with student loans.
This news is making many student and graduate students very upset as millions and millions have already requested their loans to be forgiven.
